About The Project
Collaborating with Donjon Marine and Bayshore Recycling Corp., this marine project centered on the disposal of dredged material at the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal (SBMT), situated in the Sunset Park and Greenwood Heights neighborhoods of Brooklyn, New York, along the Upper New York Bay. The partnership enabled effective dredge management, contributing to the project’s success. Recent progress at SBMT includes its evolution into a major offshore wind hub, with construction starting in 2024 to support the Empire Wind 1 offshore wind farm, aligning with broader efforts to generate jobs and advance New York’s renewable energy goals.
